Frankfurt 2009: Ferrari 458 Italia

Here in the velvet-roped-off Autoblog section of the Frankfurt Motor Show press room, opinions are split over the styling of the new Ferrari 458 Italia. While some of us are enamored of the supercar's svelte shape, others....well let's just say they're more fond of Ferraris of yore. But whatever your take on the design, there's no doubting that this is a seminal debut for the Maranello marque, for whom the new 458 is the first completely new production mid-engine car in a decade. We caught a pair of Italias – in red and yellow – strutting still on the Ferrari show stand ahead of the press conference scheduled for later today, which we present for your consideration and viewing enjoyment in the high-res image gallery below. Check it out and leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Toy Ferrari exotic computing device

For Autoblog readers, cars and computers converge on a daily basis, but never like this. At Computex, creative PC packaging company Kimpro displayed an Intel Atom-based netbook (for the tech-challenged, that's an inexpensive laptop) that hides within the plastic of a Ferrari F430 GT. We don't know much about the company that produced this object of processing perfection, but we're pretty sure we could live with one of these babies for blog duty.

The tech geeks at Engadget tell us that Atom-based computers are anything but sprightly, making the choice of a toy Ferrari chassis a dubious one at best. We don't care, though, because how many exotics have two USB ports, DVI out, and an internal DVD burner? We just hope that the processor managed to find a home nestled between the rear wheels.

The longest Ferrari in the world : Autosport International auto show

A Ferrari 360 Modena is one hell of a car. Fast and glamorous: in a word, an amazing sports car. But what happens if you want to take out a group of friends for a spin in your Ferrari? Hardly suitable as a family saloon or for an outing with friends. There were precisely the thoughts of Style Limousines, who with the aid of a specialist company converted the Modena 360 into a limousine. Behind the driver there is room for eight passengers in racing seats. Length: 6 m. Top speed: 267 km/h. VoilĂ : the longest Ferrari in the world or the fastest limousine on Earth: whichever you prefer. I would have a further suggestion: the ugliest Ferrari in the world. This is also what Ferrari thought, who apparently demanded that the owner remove all logos and indications of Ferrari from the monstrosity.
